Tottenham

A friendly, growing town rooted in Canadian history

Welcome to Tottenham

A friendly, growing town rooted in Canadian history

Tottenham is a friendly town located in southern Ontario. Like some of its neighbors, it has seen continued growth over the years. Three new subdivisions spurred the growth of new retail space on Mill Street. Tottenham is not crowded though. The population is just over 4,500. While Tottenham is continuing to grow, it keeps ties to its history.

Tottenham is filled with nice restaurants and has an abundance of activities people of all ages can enjoy. You can grab a bite to eat at A Taste of Freedom and then enjoy a nice piece of the town’s history on the Tottenham Steam Train. The refurbished train is still running and takes passengers on a fun ride to the town of Beeton and back. It’s one of Tottenham’s biggest tourist attractions.

What to Love

Local Lifestyle

Much of Tottenham’s recent growth comes from people moving out of the city looking for quiet living surrounded by nature. The Tottenham Conservation Area has the scenic views people are looking for as they enjoy walking along with one of the many trails. Residents can fill their days with activities, such as a round of golf at Woodington Lake Golf Club.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

There is no need to leave Tottenham to find fine dining and entertainment. A Taste Of Freedom Country Inn is in a restored Victorian-style home peppered with multiple fireplaces. The garden patio has beautiful landscaping. You can reserve the pergola and have a private meal with friends and family. The Chef’s Choice Steak is hand-cut in-house and served with blue cheese butter and a homemade red wine peppercorn au jus.

The Cedar Kitchen is another one of Tottenham’s top local dining spots with a breakfast and lunch menu. They have traditional favorites like Malted Belgian Waffles and clubhouse sandwiches, eggs Benedict, and juicy hamburgers.

Woodington Lake Golf Club is a semi-private golf club. Their newest golf course, The Legacy Course, has challenging water hazards and fast, undulating greens. Woodington’s original golf course, The Legacy, is carved into a pine forest with 200-acres of rolling greens. The restaurant is open to the public during golf season, and it is a favorite spot for charcuterie boards and fresh oysters.

Things to Do

The Tottenham Conservation Area is a premier outdoor location. Families flock to the beach in the summer to play beach volleyball and relax on the soft sand. It is a safe place to swim and paddleboats are available to take a stroll around the water. The Disc Golf course is a fun activity for youth and adults. A playground is available for the littles. Services are on-site, including a place to purchase firewood for your evening campfire. Pavilions are available to rent for special occasions.

Tottenham is famous for the Tottenham Bluegrass Festival. It was originally created to celebrate the town’s 100th year and is now an annual three-day event. Bluegrass bands come from across the country and the United States and perform to a full audience. Sometimes they mix up some fun with a Band Scramble, where random musicians are chosen to perform together. It is a light-hearted and fun competition among the musicians. Live music fills the outdoor amphitheater, and the audience brings their lawn chairs and picnic baskets so they can settle in and enjoy the evening.
