Located in the southern part of Ontario, Beeton is a small town located between Alliston and Tottenham. The origin of the town’s name stems from the person who developed the area back in the 1800s, da jones. At the time, Jones was the first honey producer in all of Canada. So, Beeton developed a reputation for being a manufacturing town. Still to this day, Beeton clings to its historic roots. Every September, the town conducts a fall fair to celebrate the agricultural traditions the town was built on.
If you’re looking for a quiet change of scenery, then Beeton could be the place for you. The town is not densely populated and is not a vacation spot like some of its neighbors. There are enough attractions to satisfy Beeton's residents, and due to its location, it is an easy commute to multiple cities if a getaway is needed.

Muddy Water Hotel is a restaurant and bar dating back to the 1880s. They have a homemade soup for cold winter nights and lively entertainment on the weekends. The billiards and game room is a popular place for residents to gather, relax, and enjoy the company of the local community. With no large commercial centers in the area, residents can enjoy a quiet life away from traffic and city lights. Yet city amenities are nearby, with the metropolitan area of Toronto just an hour away.
Things to Do
Beeton is still home to events that anyone can enjoy. The
Beeton Fall Fair is one of the town’s longest-running traditions and one of the oldest agricultural fairs in Canada. The Beeton Fall Fair is a weekend-long event with countless different activities for those in attendance. Some examples are concerts, a beer garden, animal shows, spelling bees, car shows, and a demolition derby. Children have fun at the Hands-On Cow Milking competition. The Miniature Horse Demonstrations are a wonderful way for the community to celebrate the hard work of local students learning how to care for animals.
Another yearly event is the
Beeton Honey & Garden Festival. It celebrates the history of the town and Beeton’s bee-farming founder. Similar to the fall fair, there are countless attractions to ensure fun for the whole family! On-goers can shop at food and vendor trucks, enjoy live music and other performances. The Family Fun Zone entertains children and families with puppet shows, juggling acts, and dancers. It also has large slides and blow-up gymnasiums for children to play in. Over 190 artisans from all over Canada set up and provide an array of home decor, art, jewelry, and so much more.
The Beeton Memorial Arena is equipped with a community hall, ice rink, and hosts numerous programs and workshops. The Arena hosts hockey teams and ice-skating programs so children have opportunities to learn and enjoy team sports. The venue can be used for recreational purposes or booked for events.
